Trick or treat smell my feet...

Sooooo...Halloween is coming up :) I'm probably a little to old to be this excited about it, but hey what the hell, right? Traditionally, in the pagan world Halloween was known as Samhain which was celebrated on October 31st (duh lol). It's one of 2 spirit nights within the year (the other is Belltaine). At this time the laws of time and space are temporarily suspended and the barriers between our world and that of the spirts are lifted. This makes communicating with our ancestors much easier. Samhain honors the Dark Mother and Father (the crone and her aged escort). It's a time to focus on the dark mysteris and to honor those who have crossed over before us. Samhain places an emphasis on the cycle of death and rebirth, ends must come in order for there to be new beginnings. For pagans, Samhain marked the third and final harvest of the year. Tomorrow I'll put up a blog on setting up altars for this time of year. Talk to you then...Stay happy :)
